VILLACIDRO

Starting from the Church of Sant’Antonio, the statue of Sant’Isidoro is placed on a float decorated with flowers and pulled by a yoke of oxen, accompanied by the sound of launeddas and other yokes of oxen. There are also the tracas with their carts with many figures on them, recalling the various jobs on the land. The procession is accompanied by the presence of many folk groups in traditional Sardinian dress from all over Sardinia who sing and pray the praises of the Saint. The procession winds its way through the streets of the town, festively decorated with flowers and scented with aromatic herbs and Mediterranean essences sprinkled along the route, which is overflowing with the faithful. At the end of the procession, the statue is carried back to the church through a square entirely covered in flower petals, filled with the faithful and accompanied by the music of the launeddas.
